“A Bird in the Hand” is a companion quest in Hogwarts Legacy. This quest is part of the companion Poppy Sweeting’s quest line to find the Snidgets Sanctuary.

What Is “A Bird in the Hand” About?

The Hogwarts Legacy Quest “A Bird in the Hand” is a relationship quest in the quest line of key companion Poppy Sweeting. For this quest, you should meet with Poppy Sweeting southwest of Brocburrow and then talk to Dorran.

The goal of the quest is to enter the ruins and rescue the snidgets. Two places in this quest contain a puzzle:

  • Find out how to get into the ruins.
  • Unlock the doors to the Snidget Sanctuary.

    • The solutions for these two puzzles are explained below.

    How to Get Into the Ruins

    For this part of the “A Bird in the Hand” quest, you need to place the moonstone in the center and then move the pillars with Accio into their correct position. Placed in the correct position, the pillars will illuminate the correct symbols and the door to the ruins will open.

    In the following screenshot you can see the correct position of the two pillars:

    The door opens immediately and you can enter the ruins.

    Search For the Snidgets

    Make your way through the ruins. After a short walk, you will come to a locked gate. In front of this gate are two panels on the floor. Two cubes are hidden nearby. Place the blue cube on the blue glowing surface and the red cube on the red glowing surface.

    You can find one of the two cubes on the shelf in the screenshot below. For the second cube, use Accio to pick up the crate and bring it to the other end of the room, as shown in the second screenshot. Now climb up and there you will find the second cube. Take this one with Accio and put it on the floor plate.

    When both cubes are placed, you must cast these spells on the cubes:

    After that, the door opens. A fight with many opponents awaits you. After this fight, you have successfully completed the quest “A Bird in the Hand”.
