Ashley Danielsen: Why Did Farrah Abraham's Sister Disappear? What Made Her Come Back?
There are many mysteries in the life of Farrah Abraham:
How does she pay her bills? How has she managed to remain somewhat relevant in the years since she was fired from Teen Mom OG?
The list of questions goes on and on.
There was a time when we had more information than we could handle about Farrah’s personal life.
During her time as a reality star and shortly thereafter, Ms. Abraham lived in the TMI realm.
Sure, just about everyone overshares in the social media age, but most people never starred in a reality show by day and hosted live streaming sex shows by night.
Anyway, now that Farrah has been demoted from reality star to mere influencer, it’s a little harder to keep tabs on all her comings and goings.
And with the exception of 12-year-old Sophia — who still makes daily appearances on Farrah’s Instagram page — the rest of the family has faded into obscurity.
That means we don’t hear much from Farrah’s mom, Debra Danielsen, or her father, Michael Abraham.
And we never heard much from Farrah’s sister, Ashley Danielsen, who has generally kept a safe distance from the insanity that made the rest of her family semi-famous.
But Ashley made a rare — and exceedingly brief — social media appearance this week, thanks to a video posted by Debz OG herself.
As you may recall Farrah believed Covid was a hoax from the start, and it seems she’s held firm to that belief.
Her family, however, actually took the pandemic seriously.
And so, Mother’s Day marked the first time that Debra had seen her daughters in 15 months.
(Or so she claims. Debz doesn’t have the greatest track record when it comes to telling the truth.)
"So, we are celebrating four generations today and this is what we are doing," Danielsen told her YouTube folllowers as she introduced the assembled guests.
"Here’s Gigi, great-grandma, my mom. Then there’s Farrah, Ashley, Sophia, Sylvia (Ashley’s daughter), and Axel (Sylvia’s son)."
"David and then me! So happy Mother’s Day, everybody!" Debra continued, circling the camera back around to herself.
Obviously, it’s nice that the entire Danielsen clan was able to get together, but commenters mostly focused on the rare appearance from Ashley, who usually avoids the spotlight.
Not surprisingly, it seems Farrah and Ashley don’t have a very close relationship.
The animosity may stem from the moment in 2013, when Farrah blamed Ashley for her DUI.
“It was St. Patrick’s Day and I was out with my sister. I did not plan to drink because I was sick, so I took the role of being in charge and making sure my sister and I would return home together and safely,” she told In Touch at the time.
“At 10 p.m., I tried to leave, and at that time, my sister was not ready to leave, so I had been sipping on drinks to pass the time.”
In a 2017 interview, Ashley revealed that while her family was very close at one point, it’s rare these days for them to all be under one roof:
“I don’t get to spend any time with Sophia. I think that’s the part that makes me the saddest," she said.
"Our family was very close growing up. We were with our cousins almost every day. I think it’s sad that my kids won’t have that relationship with Sophia.”
Obviously, that’s a bummer.
But hey, at least Ashley doesn’t have to spend time with Farrah, right?
We kid. It looks as though the ladies of the Abraham-Danielsen clan have managed to patch things up (at least for a day), and hey — we’re happy for them.
