Exclusive: Janhvi has brought her A-game because of Zoya - Karan Johar
Janhvi Kapoor is just one-film old in the industry. While audiences are waiting for her second release, given the gap has been long, the pretty gal has kept fans hooked with her stylish appearances. Her shy yet sweet persona has made a special place in the hearts of the viewers. Janhvi's latest outing was on the OTT platform with director Zoya Akhtar’s Ghost Stories. The anthology attracted a lot of attention as four big directors - Zoya Akhtar, Karan Johar, Anuraj Kashyap and Dibaker Banerji - came together for it.
In a recent interview with Filmfare, Karan, who produced Janhvi's first film Dhadak, spoke about how she has made him proud over time. He said, "I am very happy that Janhvi's second outing was with Zoya. Mainstream actors usually shy away from anthologies. They have these ridiculous, stupid theories in their minds fed by their family members or their managers. Janhvi had been dying to work with Zoya. She's been her huge fan. I told her you couldn't have asked for a better oppotunity."
The filmmaker added, "Zoya is incredible. Janhvi has brought her A-game because Zoya motivated her. Unfortunately, some star-kids get branded as 'nepo kids'. But performances like these, thanks to the director and the actor's hard work, break myths about star-kids. Janhvi doesn't have a sense of entitlement. She's a hardworking girl." Janhvi will soon be seen in Karan's magnum opus Takht. Apart from that she also has Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Dostana 2 and Roohi Afzana in her kitty.
