Veere Di Wedding 2 confirmed, production is set to begin next year
In 2018, the movie 'Veere Di Wedding' featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, and Shikha Talsania was released and performed beyond expectations at the box office. There is now talk of a sequel being in the works.
According to a report by a leading news portal, the concept for the sequel has been finalised and the process for filming has already begun. It is confirmed that the sequel will be made.
A source close to the team informed, "Veere Di Wedding is a very special project for the makers, and they have already set the ball rolling for the sequel. So Veere Di Wedding 2 is definitely being made, and the idea and concept has already been locked. However, the script is still being written, and the final draft should be ready in a few months. Once that is done, they will start looking at the casting and other logistics. The movie will roll next year."
Currently, Rhea Kapoor, the producer, is occupied with her latest project called The Crew, which is a remarkable feat of casting. The movie features Kareena alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon and narrates the story of three women working in the aviation sector. Ektaa Kapoor and Rhea are co-producing The Crew, while the direction is being helmed by Rajesh Krishnan. Most of the filming for the movie has been completed.
Although the cast for Veere Di Wedding 2 has not been finalised yet, fans are hoping for the same actors to return.
Sonam is currently in London with her husband after the birth of their son, and her last film was Blind, which was shot before her pregnancy. In an interview, Sonam mentioned that she is in no rush to return to work and will take her time. Additionally, Swara is also expecting a baby in the near future.
