16 teachers are leaving the Boise School District, 5 are leaving teaching altogether
BOISE, Idaho — Sixteen teachers for the Boise School District will be leaving the district, in some cases the profession altogether.
Five of the sixteen are leaving the education profession as a whole. This comes as a shortage of teachers across the country has left some school districts in dire straights. Several districts across Idaho have already gone to 4 day school weeks in an attempt to shore up staffing issues and attract new teachers.
The picture is actually even bleaker for the district if you include support staff and assistants like those who work as special education assistants or behavioral support specialists that number climbs to 24 people leaving the Boise School District.
This issue is on the Boise School Districts board meeting agenda for May 8th. We will update this story with any further information.
