Guide: Treasure Valley grocery stores and their accommodations during coronavirus

Stores in the Treasure Valley are changing their hours and making some adjustments to accommodate seniors and people with health conditions during the coronavirus spread.

Here are some adjustments to note:

Albertsons

On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9 a.m. Albertsons will open to seniors and at-risk members of our community.

The store will open to all customers at 9 a.m.

WinCo

WinCo announced it will start closing various locations between midnight and 7 a.m. to keep up with demand.

Whole Foods

Whole Foods Market stores will service customers who are 60 and older starting at 7 a.m. Customers are welcome to join at 8 a.m.

Walmart

At Walmart, the store will open early every Tuesday from 6-7 a.m. so seniors can get what they need.

The pharmacy and vision center will both be open then too.

Walmart will be closing now at 8:30 p.m.

Fred Meyer

Fred Meyer is hiring more people to keep up with demand in the stores.

The store is limiting the number of cold, flu and sanitary products per order.

Boise Co-Op

The Boise Co-Op reduced their hours to re-stock, clean and give staff some breathing room to work.

The daily grocery store hours have changed to open at 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The store is introducing a shopping hour exclusively for seniors at least 60 years-old, seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. They say to bring an ID.

Target

Target is placing limits on products like hand sanitizer, toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, bottled water and more. They say they will continue to make adjustments to limits as needed.

All Target stores will close at 9 p.m. to allow even more time for teams to clean and restock store shelves.

Target will reserve the first hour of shopping each Wednesday at stores nationwide for vulnerable guests – including elderly and those with underlying health concerns. "We are encouraging other guests to plan their shopping trips around this timeframe," Target said in a statement.

Trader Joes

Trader Joe’s stores will be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. to support crew members in taking care of one another and customers.

Trader Joes is suspending all food and beverage sampling in-store.

Costco

Limits have been implemented on certain items to help ensure more members are able to access the merchandise they want and need.

Roots Zero Waste Market

The market says they have placed gloves and more scoop deposit areas in the store for public use. They say that they can fill containers for customers if they have concerns.

Boise Farmers Market

Opening day of Boise Farmers Market has been postponed.

The good news? Boise Farmers Market has created a list of local farmers who have food available for pick-up and delivery.
